OFF-RENDER è la prima mostra personale del *Collettivo Fayfirunna, una rete anonima e decentralizzata di ex architetti, designer e professionisti del settore a livello internazionale. Attraverso video inchieste, sculture 3D e souvenir, analizza criticamente l’ampia produzione visiva che circonda The Line, il progetto più noto di NEOM, il vasto piano di sviluppo urbano promosso dall’Arabia Saudita nel deserto del nord-ovest del Paese, come esempio particolarmente significativo del rendering inteso come agente attivo nella produzione del futuro.
OFF-RENDER esplora il rapporto tra rappresentazione e costruzione dello spazio, interrogando il ruolo delle immagini nella comunicazione di progetti urbani di questa scala e le dinamiche di potere e speculazione che li attraversano.
OFF-RENDER is the first solo exhibition by Fayfirunna Collective, an anonymous and decentralised network of former architects, designers, and industry professionals from around the world. Through video investigations, 3D sculptures, and souvenirs, the collective critically examines the extensive visual production surrounding The Line, NEOM’s best-known project, part of the vast urban development plan promoted by Saudi Arabia in the country’s northwestern desert, as a particularly striking example of rendering as an actant in the production of the future.
OFF-RENDER explores the relationship between the representation and construction of space, questioning the role of images in communicating urban projects of this scale, as well as the dynamics of power and speculation that shape them.
